One Player Cost Rollbit $41.8 Million in 2024, Leaked Accounts Show

Rollbit's sportsbook lost $41.8 million in the first quarter of 2024, and its licensee pinned the loss on "one player who is under investigation," according to 2024 management accounts filed with the Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA).

The one-page accounts from Bull Gaming N.V. are dated May 28, 2026. They surfaced on Sept. 22, 2026, in the #CasinoSecrets database, which journalist Lilith Wittmann and a group of outlets built from files taken out of the CGA's internal systems.

Rollbit's casino games brought in almost $264 million in gross gaming revenue in 2024. That is the money a gambling site keeps after paying out winners. The sportsbook ended the year almost $27.3 million in the red.

A note in the accounts says the "Q1 and Q2 sportsbook loses [sic] relate to one player ToS breach (currently subject to imminent legal proceedings valued at $51m)." ToS means terms of service. The accounts do not name the player or say who is suing whom.

Court Filings Describe a Frozen Poker Player

The timing matches a dispute Bull Gaming took to a U.S. court. On Aug. 12, 2024, the company asked a federal court in Northern California to make the crypto exchange Kraken hand over records for a lawsuit it planned to file in Curaçao against poker player James Hopkins, according to the court's March 11, 2025 order.

Hopkins opened a Rollbit account called "Stake Stinks" on Feb. 16, 2023, the order says. Bull Gaming suspected he was gambling for an undisclosed syndicate, which Rollbit's terms ban. It froze the account in April 2024, saying he gave "minimal and insufficient information" about his location and identity.

Hopkins disputes that. He attests he won about $70 million and that Rollbit still owes him more than $19.6 million.

Magistrate Judge Lisa Cisneros denied the request without prejudice, so Bull Gaming can ask again once it files the Curaçao case.
