Robinhood has put about $25 million of bitcoin on its own balance sheet, a company executive said on Oct. 7 at the Digital Asset Summit Asia in Singapore.
Johann Kerbrat runs Robinhood's crypto and international businesses. He disclosed the purchase in an interview on The Starting Block, a show broadcast from the conference. At prices near $84,000 per coin that day, $25 million buys roughly 300 bitcoin.
The coins belong to Robinhood itself, not to the 28.4 million funded customers who trade stocks, crypto and prediction-market contracts on its app. That ties a slice of the company's own money to the bitcoin price its customers bet on every day.
Kerbrat Calls the Buy a Signal
Kerbrat said the purchase is meant to line Robinhood up with the crypto community. He also played down its size, citing a company market value of about $100 billion.
The $25 million worth of bitcoin is not going to change a lot of the current trajectory of the company.
Kerbrat made the remark in the same interview. Robinhood has not announced the purchase in a press release or securities filing.
Prediction Markets Outearn Crypto
The buy comes as crypto shrinks inside Robinhood's business. In the second quarter of 2026, crypto trading revenue fell 38% to $100 million, according to the company's earnings release. Event contracts revenue rose more than tenfold to $156 million.
The bitcoin holding has not yet appeared in any Robinhood financial report. Its next quarterly report, covering July through September, is the first place the position could show up in the company's accounts.
