OpenAI Shows Kalshi World Cup Odds in ChatGPT Search

OpenAI has started displaying Kalshi's World Cup prediction odds inside ChatGPT search results, the first time the AI company has partnered with a prediction market. The tie-up, reported by The New York Times on July 13, pulls Kalshi's real-time match odds into answers when users ask ChatGPT about the tournament.

A ChatGPT search for "France and Spain" returns a graphic giving France a 60 percent chance of winning, credited to Kalshi.

A query on the other semifinal cites Kalshi data putting England at 55 percent to beat Argentina. OpenAI's help page states users "cannot place bets through ChatGPT," that the data is "for informational purposes only," and that the deal covers only queries tied to the 2026 World Cup. Neither company promoted the partnership, and both declined to comment.

The deal extends Kalshi's push to put its odds everywhere. Last year, it wired its data into CNN and CNBC, including a live on-air ticker. Rival Polymarket struck a similar deal with Dow Jones in January to feed odds into The Wall Street Journal, Google added both firms to Search in 2025, and Meta is building a stand-alone prediction-markets app.

The mainstreaming of prediction markets like Kalshi arrives as scrutiny intensifies. US regulators are weighing crackdowns on prediction-market abuses, and the CFTC opened an investigation into Polymarket in June over whether it operates within the law, after correct bets on the timing of US military action and corporate news raised insider-trading concerns.

For players, betting-adjacent odds now surface inside the everyday tools people use to ask questions, with no wager attached but a direct line back to Kalshi's site. Expect regulators to press harder on where information ends and gambling begins as the CFTC probe advances.
