Swedish Regulator Calls Out Influencer Gambling Promos

One streamer just got 22 months in prison for pushing unlicensed sites.

Sweden’s gambling watchdog Spelinspektionen dropped a new report showing how influencers are still a big problem for unlicensed online casinos. They’re all over Twitch, Kick, TikTok, Instagram and even Telegram, dropping affiliate links, codes and giveaways that point Swedish players to black market sites.

The regulator says a lot of this content targets younger crowds and that some streamers who got banned from Twitch are just moving over to Kick. They also flagged affiliate link farms, deepfake ads and esports deals as growing headaches.

Right at the end of the report they noted that in March 2026 an influencer got hit with a 22-month prison sentence for economic crimes tied to promoting unlicensed gambling. It’s the first conviction of its kind in Sweden and a clear sign they’re starting to treat this stuff more seriously.
