GK68 Alleges Stake Ended His Deal Early

YouTuber GK68 alleges Stake cut his creator deal short after just 3 weeks. Feedback is skeptical, with many pointing to underwhelming performance numbers as the real reason.

GK68 says that about 2.5 days ago, Stake Jae messaged him to say they couldn't continue the deal. He was then removed from the group chat. At the time he still had 9 videos left to post, $44,750.67 sitting uncashed, and another $20k owed from the leaderboard. He'd gone exclusive with Stake only about three weeks earlier, and says he tried reaching out to Eddie and Akhil to sort it out internally but got nowhere.

GK68 claims he'd already budgeted around the deal and feels it amounts to scamming both him and his community. Still, he says he hopes it's a mistake Stake will fix, and that he doesn't think the site itself is running a scam.

We reached out to GK68 for comment via X / Twitter DMs. He saw the message but did not respond.

Not everyone in the replies is convinced. Several people pointed out that deals this size usually get adjusted, or at least get a heads-up, when affiliate numbers come in well below expectations. RunAlong noted that Jae is normally lenient about reviewing and resizing deals, so for the deal to get cut outright, the numbers must have been way off. He also said he checked GK68's Discord and found only one new message in four months, and that past leaderboards didn't look like they'd actually been paid out. Others asked what stats were originally promised versus what actually came through, which is a common root cause in these situations.

Stake has a strong reputation in the community for paying creators fairly. For now, a lot of people are waiting to see if more context comes out, or if the deal simply underperformed.
